"This body of work is the result of my experimentation and adaption of traditional techniques of Japanese printmaking, particularly printing with watercolour directly on the wooden block and floating ink, or suminagashi. I have adapted these traditional techniques to suit my own way of working, substituting suminagashi for carving and layering the colours when printing as opposed to printing the colours separately with multiple blocks. I have spent many years exploring techniques of non-toxic printmaking." - Yvonne Werner
