Based on Gurambilbarra (Townsville), Danish Quapoor has a multidisciplinary visual arts practice which spans diverse mediums including illustrative paintings, ceramics and textile forms. He holds a Master of Arts & Cultural Management (University of Melbourne), a Bachelor of Creative Arts, Honours and a Bachelor of Visual Arts (with Distinction), (both University of Southern Queensland / UniSQ). He is the inaugural 2023 UniSQ School of Creative Arts Alumni Fellow. Recent projects have included an animation for Outerspace Brisbane’s SUPERCUT program and the RADF-supported, COVID-responsive SICs Degrees exhibition. Quapoor has works held in the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery - Toowoomba City Collection and private collections in Australia, the USA and Germany.

The artist is known for his distinctive flat-colour compositions and playful narratives. His work interrogates personal identity and familial relationships, drawing on and subverting concepts of loss, sexuality, frustration and gender roles. Recurrent personal iconographies, including crystals and vine tendrils, purposefully obfuscate these themes. This collection of small prints provides a sidelong, peripheral insight into Quapoor’s practice.
