Her artworks represent the Yalanji culture which is deeply connected with nature, particularly the surrounding rainforest and ocean environments. Kirsty works in prints and ceramics from the Yalanji Art Centre in Mossman.
The Stinging Plant Pot duplicates the stinging tree found in the rainforest parts of Australia, wildly known to cause a painful sting. Kirsty’s wonderful ceramic work incorporates very fine details of these leaves at the opening to the pot.
