Title: Aegires

Materials: titanium, responsibly sourced sterling silver, ethically sourced 1.65ct Brazilian amethyst, sterling silver chain.

Inspiration: tropical sea fauna such as some species of nudibranchs (sea slugs). The etched lines on the inside of the pendant reference the striations that can be found on the surface of various fish species as well as many gastropods, and the rippled texture of the sandy seabed itself.

Additional information: amethyst, alongside citrine and several other gem varieties, are all different types of quartz. Amethyst gets its stunning purple colour from trace amounts of iron and manganese inside crystal structure. Amethyst has historically been a highly valuable gemstone, with purple being a colour often reserved exclusively for royalty and high-ranking members society.

*Please note that the amethyst and sterling silver setting rotate. This is due to the rivet that holds this component to the titanium pendant and is a secure (albeit kinetic) connection.

Care Instruction: clean with warm water and soap (we recommend using an old toothbrush) or ultrasonic cleaner, do not use harsh chemicals.
