Follow the Sun was the first recording by multiple ARIA award winning Indigenous singer-songwriter Seaman Dan. It was recorded when he was 70 years old and contains examples of the diverse musical styles that influenced him. Blues, hula, slow jazz and traditional songs all helped shape his recorded repertoire over the ensuing decade.
This reissue of his first CD provides a great introduction to the man and his music, plus it contains a new recording of a well-loved pearling song by Ted Egan, Sayonara Nakamura. The song adds another chapter to the Seaman Dan story of someone who loves the sea and has lived its life (and its dangers) for many decades.
Originally recorded in 1999, remastered in 2011.
