These painted Burnie Beans by Sheryl J. Burchill are collected from Kuku Yalanji Country, between madja (rainforest) and jalun (sea) where they are cleaned, prepared and hand-painted. Hand-made with love, they are the perfect grounding gifts for use as place settings, decorations, paperweights and keepsakes. Burnie Beans were traditionally used by Kuku Yalanji karrkay-karrkay (children), pronounced garrd-gay garrd-gay, by warming two natural beans together until they heated up as the basis for a tag game.
