"The line that lies between our memories and dreams is a deeply personal interpretation of the theme, Thresholds. On a fortnightly basis, I travel between Cairns and Ayr for family reasons. The work represents my experience of these two places. The shell, a motif or symbol for home, refuge and protection, sits on the horizon or threshold, perpetually suspended between the two opposing worlds - north and south, light and darkness, future and past, dreams and memories, hope and grief."
