"Terraqueous: On stranger tides depicts a collection of natural environments, both the land, the sea and the sky. The size of land-masses, sea-scapes and sky-domes have been discarded and all environments including animals, seacraft, and flying objects sit side by side as equals - lost in time and space. As the title suggests, On Stranger Tides allows the mind to wander into places where elements of the cosmos mingle with NASA’s space shuttles, floating blimps (dirigible), space invaders, dragons and Monkey Magic; while the rising tide, full of sea-life, trawlers, luggers and an ancient wooden-hulled sailing boat gently nudges the land where bonsai trees (and coconuts), sculptures (John Kelly’s, Alien), and landforms (Mt. Coonwrin) sit contained within vessels and pots. Formed of land and water, some environments are small, others are vast, yet there is a commonality between them all. They are terrarium’s - dense, yet intimate pockets of cultural knowledge about the world around us. How we as humanity choose to engage with that world is entirely up to us as individuals."
