"The Thupmul is my mother’s totem. I am Thupmul woman from the Argun tribe of Badu Island. The stingray, is very peaceful in nature. When the thupmul is in its element it leaves black patches on the seabed, these black patches we call Baris. The hunters usually look for these Baris. The thupmul dusts itself while laying on the seabed to camouflage themselves from predators."
