"Baidam Thithuyil, the great Shark Constellation commonly known as the Pleiades or the Seven Sisters, is a series of seven stars that appear in the night sky above Papua New Guinea in the shape of a shark. They first appear in April and move across the skies, taking up a number of positions until the mouth of the shark touches the horizon, Baidam Bupur Nanami, bringing with it thunder and lighting, the onset of the monsoon season, andthendisappearing in September. During these months this major star constellation influences both land, sea and air environments that then influence social and seasonal changes for the people of Zenadh Kes. Following the disappearance of Baidam Thithuyil, the stars of Tagai emerge."
