"The tropical rainforest floor is a most fascinating place for a contemporary conceptual artist/designer and horticulturist. The constant cycle of life, death and decay - the Earth’s life force. Layers of random organic patterns reconfigure chaotically, yet rhythmically - all in a busy symbiotic dance. On close inspection, there can be found amongst the leaves, mossy rocks and tree roots, brightly coloured curiosities like fungi, fruits, leaves, tiny moisture droplets, rock water pools, beetles, butterfly wings and tiny flowers. All glisten like jewels in sudden shafts of sunlight. Design elements of texture, form, colour and composition are all on the forest floor. This micro work seeks to pay homage to this phenomenon." - Lois Hayes
