'Camped By The River' by Kate Hunter 2024
"This series of jewellery is a response to my surroundings whilst camped at Davies Creek.
Forest bathing, or shinrin-yoku in Japanese, means bathing in the forest atmosphere, or taking in the forest through our senses.
I have used pictogram stamping on the metal to illustrate my feelings and observations, creating visual stories as I have walked in moving meditation, swam and noticed the wild life and tree leaves, quietly enjoying nature.
This series has a whimsical playful feel in a variety of earths's metals tha treflect the glinting sun and the natural environment." - Kate Hunter
