"After a successful career as a ceramicist/ sculptor/ and silversmith/ Jacqueline faced a life-altering challenge when she was diagnosed with arthritis in her fingers. The condition forced her to abandon her silversmith practice and move to a warmer climate. Jacqueline found solace and a new mode of expression in painting. This shift not only allowed her to cope with her physical limitations but also opened a fresh avenue to explore and convey her experiences. Her work profoundly interprets the concept of "threshold" a symbolic juncture signifying change and the dawn of new opportunities. Her abstract paintings "Urban Jungle 1-2 captures the chaos and busyness of city life in Melbourne. The paintings serve as a visual narrative of her transition from the crowded cityscape to the serene landscapes of Queensland, embodying the theme of the exhibition. Jacqueline s personal and artistic experiences are deeply intertwined with the theme of thresholds and new beginnings. Her arthritis diagnosis and subsequent relocation from the city are pivotal events that reshaped her life and artistic direction. These experiences resonate through her work inviting viewers to reflect on their thresholds and the potential for new fulfilling paths in life."
