"In Tropical FNQ the wet season is inescapable; stifling heat/ oppressive humidity and an unsettling sense of foreboding. There’s often a sultry atmosphere and ominous silence that invariably forms the pivotal moment before the monsoon storms break. Within the turbulence is an uneasy tension alongside a contradictory calmness—a suspended anticipation that signals the threshold between the dry and the wet. I focus on these transitory movements and attempt to capture the conflicting moments of calmness/ unease/ drama and beauty that are so often present."
