"Over the past nine years I have embarked on a journey of self identity/exploration. In making identifiable connections to my cultural roots/ in revisiting my parents homeland/ in taking photographs from where my father and Mother grew up in Sicily (Italy). I had endeavoured to take photographic images of my Father s cottage  in Milo Sicily. I had taken images (Canon 600D SLR) looking out through a doorway and images of the front entry featuring an unhinged solid wooden door of Milo and Taormina (Catania Provence). My Father immigrated to North Queensland in 1955 and established his roots embarking on his own journey leaving all of his family members behind. He married my Mother in 1964 and they both voyaged back to Australia via ship."
