Collection: Far North Studio

FAR NORTH STUDIO | Designer/maker Lisa Capon uses traditional jewellery making tools: a jeweller's saw, files, hammers, pliers, vices, blocks of wood and steel, emery paper, and polishing compounds to create these hand made, timeless, and beautifully finished pieces.

Lisa creates her distinctive pieces in two states: at her old bench in the Adelaide Hills, and in her Far North Studio nestled on the dividing line of the Far North tropical rainforest and the dry eucalypt forest. The surrounding natural beauty and wondrous flora and fauna provide a constant source of inspiration and distraction.

Her work reflects an ongoing fascination with:

the effects of time, mechanical and chemical processes on the visual character of metal, emotions, love, human relationships and relationship with place and objects as triggers to precious memories.

Of the North, For the North

We work to support artists achieve their aspirations. Artists set their prices and we add a standard service and marketing commission - this supports our not-for-profit programs and allows us to continually turn over the highest-quality artistic products.

Most artworks are one-offs and completely original in the iconic style of that artist; with the exception of intaglio and relief prints, which the organisation is renowned for. Check out our selection of limited-edition fine art printmaking.

Over 95% of the artists we support are from North Queensland. We work with both independent artists and those represented by commercial dealers and art centres.
