Collection: JANE JEHNE

“My life is based on a deep desire to be immersed in nature. Having completed my Bachelor of Arts and a Post-graduate degree specialising in plant and wildlife illustration, I went to work lecturing at the Newcastle University while working in the industry as a Freelancer illustrator. I've operated JungleNook Studio for 30 years from Far North Queensland, creating hundreds of illustrations for many clients such as Parks and Wildlife. To know every drawing is going to be used to educate is a thrill. I have had the privilege of studying rare, endemic and extinct flora and fauna. I cannot think of a better place in the world to live and experience such diversity.

I have grabbed clay as a creative lifeline, after being diagnosed with a brain tumor and anxiety, to feel the clay move in my hands knowing I could take my knowledge of illustration and nature and put into the clay and end up with a product that can be utilized daily and bring the joy of country into our everyday lives.” – Jane Jehne

Of the North, For the North

We work to support artists achieve their aspirations. Artists set their prices and we add a standard service and marketing commission - this supports our not-for-profit programs and allows us to continually turn over the highest-quality artistic products.

Most artworks are one-offs and completely original in the iconic style of that artist; with the exception of intaglio and relief prints, which the organisation is renowned for. Check out our selection of limited-edition fine art printmaking.

Over 95% of the artists we support are from North Queensland. We work with both independent artists and those represented by commercial dealers and art centres.
