SALLY MORONEY is well known for blending traditional basketry techniques with one-of-a-kind found materials. One of her trademark features is the bright recycled beach rope of the Cassowary Coast Region.
Moroney first began studies at the Cooloola Sunshine TAFE with a focus on Fine Arts and Ceramics. Born in the UK and now based in the Far North, Sally works from her rainforest studio situated close to the beach.
The pieces are made with a thoughtful consideration of colour and form, and all of her works are one of a kind. Her playful use of recycled marine debris makes her work both fascinating and beautiful.
