Edna comes from the Gunggandji tribe in Yarrabah on her mother’s side and is Eastern Kuku Yalanji on her father’s side. Her language name is Wangullay.

Born in Cairns in 1967 and raised in Yarrabah, Edna’s art reflects some of the stories she has heard during her childhood in Yarrie (Yarrabah) with family and friends. Edna has a strong sense of colour and design and is an accomplished artist; her paintings appear in several exhibitions and galleries.
