Traditionally associated with defence and protection, the shield symbolises Liam’s responsibility as a father and protector of his family. It also represents the emotional battles he has faced throughout his life, including grief, loss and mental health challenges.

While a shield is often seen as a symbol of physical strength, Liam’s work explores another side of protection — the courage to acknowledge pain, seek healing and rebuild oneself.

For Liam, strength is not simply about shielding himself from hardship. It is about facing what he carries, finding ways to heal, and continuing to stand strong for himself, his family and the generations that follow.
