“Even the smallest vessel can carry generations of knowledge”

For Liam, the coolamon honours mothers, grandmothers, aunties and Elders.

Traditionally used to hold and carry things, the coolamon takes on a deeper meaning in Liam’s work. He explores the idea that Country holds people, just as they carry the knowledge and responsibilities passed down by their ancestors.
